Monkey Apples
Monkey Apples are a hand decorated, natural product made from the seed pods from the African Monkey Apple tree. The pods are decorated and make an interesting centre piece. They can be displayed in bowls or used to decorate fireplaces in the summer. The monkey apples are collected by unemployed people in rural areas and this provides a valuable source of income to those families. The harvesting of these seed pods also protects the trees from being cut for firewood.
The seeds are about the size of a cricket ball, but sizes vary slightly as they are a natural product. The monkey apples are sold in bags of 6 unless otherwise stated.
